Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus), cub warily approaches us along the verge of the road along the dry Nossob river bed. Kgalagadi transfrontier park, South Africa.
Biology Note:- Cubs are led to kills from 2 months of age. At 6months mother provides live fawns for cub to practice catching. Juveniles around 12 months can capture hares & fawns but master the art of killing at 15 months. (Safari Companion, RD Estes; Russel Friedman books)
