Etosha National Park

While drinking at Gemsbokvlakte waterhole,which has a steep edge the juvenile springbok (Antidorcas marsupialis) slipped into the waterhole. In a flash the waiting Black-backed jackal (Canis mesomelas) were trying to pull it out. They made repeated attempts. Eventually they dragged it out on its side, but the springbok then sprang up and escaped. Etosha National Park, Namibia,
