Strewn feathers mark the end of a cape turtle dove (Streptopelia capicola). The succesful Lanner Falcon (Falco biarmicus ) starts on the innards. Polentswa waterhole, Kgalagadi transfrontier park, South Africa.
Biology Note:-The Lanner is polyandrous i.e. 2 males will look after a single nest (Greek; poly = many & andras = man)
Most incubation done by female, starting at clutch completion so that there is synchronous hatching The semi altricial chicks are mainly fed by the male, & siblicide does not occur
